Fortnite’s FNCS Global Championship 2025 is set to take place in Lyon-Décines, France, this September, bringing together the world’s best trios for a shot at the $2 million prize pool.
Epic Games’ flagship Fortnite esports event will officially run from September 6–7, 2025, marking the 19th season of the Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS).
This year, the championship is switching things up by moving away from duos and instead spotlighting trios.
33 qualified teams will battle it out across 12 games — six per day — where placements and eliminations will determine who takes home the title.
At the top of the ladder, the World Champion trio will secure $450,000, while the rest of the $2 million prize pool will be distributed among the other finalists.
Every team competing has earned their spot through a tough qualification process across three Majors earlier this year, with Divisional Cups, Last Chance Lobbies, and Regional Finals shaping the lineup.

Drama Before the Finals
The road to Lyon hasn’t been without controversy. Originally, Oceania’s trio of danath, Mace, and Skits had secured qualification, but that roster was disqualified after Skits received a ban for cheating. alex, Anon, and Resignz took their spot.
Things escalated further when another trio — Verman, Solvey, and favoq — were also disqualified when it was revealed that Skits had been playing under one of their accounts during the Oceania Major 3 Finals. Their spot was later handed over to the third-place team of VortexM, m0untain, and Goofy.
Players to Watch
Among the top names heading into the finals is Peter “Peterbot” Kata, a dominant force in the American scene. He’s already stacked up wins in 2025, including the FNCS Pro-Am and the Major 3 NA Central Grand Finals, and was last year’s Global Champion in Fort Worth alongside Miguel “Pollo” Moreno. This year, Peterbot is teaming up with Joshua “Cold” Butler of Twisted Minds and Maguire “Ritual” Morton from XSET to defend his title.
Fans will also be keeping an eye on another powerhouse trio featuring a popular Fortnite streamer and XSET co-owner, Cody “Clix” Conrod, who qualified after a strong performance in the Major 2 NA Central Finals. He’ll be joined by Ben “Batman Bugha” Anderson (also known as Higgs) and Jaxon “Eomzo” Fretz, making them one of the most hyped squads to enter the Global Championship.
