Fresh Fortnite leaks suggest a Harry Potter crossover is on the way in Chapter 7, but the news has sparked as much controversy as excitement.

According to reliable insiders like PoketOfficial and SamLeakss, datamined files point to a Wizarding World collaboration arriving in "early December 2025," right as Chapter 7 kicks off. The crossover is expected to be an Item Shop event rather than Battle Pass content, with skins for Harry, Ron, and Hermione leading the charge.
Other cosmetics could include a Sorting Hat back bling, Hedwig’s cage, wand pickaxes, broomstick gliders, and house‑themed wraps. Some leakers even hinted at Quidditch‑style mini‑challenges, though nothing has been confirmed by Epic Games yet.
On paper, it sounds like a dream collab. Fortnite has a long history of pulling in massive franchises, Marvel, Star Wars, The Simpsons, and Superman. With Warner Bros. currently rebooting the Harry Potter TV series, the timing makes sense as a promotional tie‑in. But the community reaction hasn’t been simple.
The announcement immediately reignited debate over J.K. Rowling’s ongoing controversies. Many fans, especially LGBTQ+ players, voiced frustration that Epic would collaborate with a franchise whose creator has been widely criticized for transphobic remarks and other cultural insensitivities. On X, the hashtag WeDontWantHarryPotterInFortnite trended briefly, with players calling the move “disappointing” and even threatening to quit the game.
Some on Discord argued that buying Harry Potter skins would indirectly funnel profits back to Rowling, who continues to benefit financially from the IP.

That said, not everyone is against the idea. A vocal minority is pushing the “separate the art from the artist” argument, focusing on the fun potential of Hogwarts‑themed cosmetics. For them, nostalgia outweighs the controversy. “If people enjoyed the series, let them enjoy the collab,” one fan wrote, while others shared TikTok concepts for magical Fortnite modes featuring spells like Expelliarmus.

Then there’s the middle-ground players who are simply waiting for official confirmation before making up their minds. Some admit they’re tired of the constant debates, while others suggest it’s possible to criticize Rowling without blaming Epic for licensing from Warner Bros.
What’s clear is that this crossover, if it happens, won’t be just another cosmetic drop. It’s already become a flashpoint for larger cultural conversations, and Epic Games will have to navigate that carefully. With Chapter 7’s v37.00 update looming, we’ll likely see more datamines and maybe even official teasers soon.
In related news, the leaks also suggest the SpongeBob SquarePants collaboration will arrive on November 27, 2025, which could also mark the beginning of Chapter 7.
