The Wizarding World has officially arrived in Fortnite. Epic Games confirmed during The Game Awards 2025 that Harry Potter-themed skins will be part of this year’s Winterfest event, alongside a special crossover with Hogwarts Legacy that gives players a free Chocolate Frog Backbling.

Leaks had been circulating since November about a possible Harry Potter collaboration, but the announcement finally put speculation to rest. Geoff Keighley revealed that the skins won’t feature specific characters like Harry or Hermione, but instead Hogwarts House uniforms.
Epic later shared promotional images showing a Gryffindor outfit, with confirmation that players can choose between Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin.
Release Window
The Harry Potter skins are expected to arrive between December 15 and 19 as part of Winterfest 2025.

Epic also revealed a free cosmetic reward tied to Hogwarts Legacy. To unlock the Chocolate Frog Backbling, players need to claim and play Hogwarts Legacy via the Epic Games Store. The game is free to download until December 18, making this a limited-time promotion.
Steps to unlock the Chocolate Frog Backbling:
Log in to the Epic Games Store with your Fortnite account.
Claim Hogwarts Legacy for free from its store page.
Download and play the game for at least two hours before December 18.
Log back into Fortnite to receive the Chocolate Frog Backbling automatically.
Currently, the reward is exclusive to PC players using the Epic Games Store. Epic hasn’t confirmed if the item will later appear in the Fortnite Item Shop, though past promotional cosmetics have eventually been sold.
Rumours suggest one of the Hogwarts uniforms could be included in the event’s free gift unwrap feature, though Epic hasn’t clarified if the skins will be free or sold in the item shop.
Dataminers further hinted at more Harry Potter content coming during Winterfest, including a broomstick Mythic item that could let players fly across the map like Quidditch pros.
