One of Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 3’s standout additions—the Superman Mythic transformation—has officially been disabled in-game just a week after its debut.
The feature allowed players to become the Man of Steel, granting them flight, laser vision, and immense strength, essentially turning one lucky player into a near-invincible boss. However, this Mythic was quickly becoming a point of contention in the community. While fun for the user, it often left the rest of the lobby frustrated, as gameplay balance took a major hit.
Over the past few seasons, Fortnite’s boss-style transformations have followed a familiar cycle: release, buff or nerf spawn rates, and then settle into the meta. But with Superman, Epic Games seems to have skipped that pattern entirely. According to various in-game reports and data miners, the Superman Mythic has now been disabled completely without an accompanying patch or detailed explanation.
As per commentary from community sources like @iFireMonkey and @HYPEX, there’s no confirmation yet whether this removal is permanent or temporary—though some believe it may be linked to balance issues or exploits. Over the weekend, Epic had increased the Mythic’s spawn rate to 100%, making the transformation more accessible but also highlighting how broken it had become in regular matches.
While the Mythic’s disappearance may feel abrupt, there’s still a chance it could return before the season wraps up. Previous Mythics, such as the Doctor Doom transformation, have made brief comebacks in the final days of a season, giving players one last opportunity to enjoy their powers before they’re vaulted for good.
With the Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) now in full swing, it’s unlikely Epic wants overpowered Mythics interfering with competitive integrity—even if these items don’t appear in tournament playlists. Still, for casual players, the Superman Mythic offered a fun twist on standard gameplay, albeit one that clearly needed more fine-tuning.
