Fortnitemares 2025 Update: What Are New Skins, Map Overhauls, and Free Cosmetics

Fortnitemares 2025 has officially begun, bringing a wave of Halloween-themed content, collaborations, and gameplay changes to Fortnite. The annual event, which runs until November 1, 2025, is one of the biggest seasonal updates yet, featuring nearly a dozen crossovers, new map locations, and even a free skin for players willing to grind through quests.

This year’s Fortnitemares lineup is stacked with 11 collaborations, ranging from horror classics to unexpected pop culture icons. Already live are the KPop Demon Hunters and Tron: Ares bundles, along with Doja Cat’s in-game items. Over the coming weeks, more crossovers will rotate into the shop, including:

• Wednesday Addams (Netflix’s Wednesday)

• Ghostface (Scream)

• Jason Voorhees (Friday the 13th)

• The Grabber (The Black Phone)

• Huggy Wuggy (Poppy Playtime)

• Art the Clown (Terrifier)

• R.E.P.O. robots

• Scooby-Doo and the full gang, plus the Mystery Machine van

• Hearse vehicle with themed decals

What Gameplay Changes Are Included?

Fortnitemares 2025 isn’t just about cosmetics. Epic has shaken up the loot pool with returning Halloween weapons like the Pumpkin Launcher and Stake Shotgun, alongside new mythics such as the Ghostface ability, which lets players move quickly and slash through enemies.

Three new boss NPCs — Doja Cat, Jason Voorhees, and Magmatic Carver spawn at random “pumpkin takeover” spots each match, offering unique loot when defeated. On the lighter side, the Scooby-Doo gang appears as quest-giving NPCs, letting players earn XP through themed challenges.

How Has the Map Changed?

Several locations have been overhauled for the event. The Resistance Base has been replaced by Creepy Camps, inspired by Jason Voorhees’ Camp Crystal Lake, while the Outpost Enclave has transformed into Freaky Fields, a fan-favorite Halloween POI. Other areas like Foxy Floodgates, Shining Span, and Shiny Shafts now sport pumpkin patch makeovers.

Additionally, Fortnite’s Reload mode is getting a new island in rotation: Nitemare Island, which blends spooky locations from earlier chapters with a remix of the Hades zone from Chapter 5.

What Free Rewards Can Players Earn?

Epic is offering multiple free cosmetics during Fortnitemares 2025. The highlight is the Pig the Butcher skin, unlocked by gaining 15 account levels before November 1. The set includes a back bling, pickaxe, emote, and loading screens. Below is details:

Players can also earn the Spooky Stroll emote by eliminating 50 opponents in Ranked Reload matches.

Meanwhile, Twitch drops are live: watching 30 minutes of eligible Fortnite streams grants the Treat Bag back bling, while one hour unlocks the Treat Axe pickaxe.

How Long Does Fortnitemares 2025 Last?

The event runs until November 1, after which Fortnite is expected to transition into its next themed season, rumored to be centered on The Simpsons.
