G2 Esports are the champions of BLAST Open London 2025 after pulling off a stunning 3-2 victory against the world’s number-one team, Team Vitality.

Under HuNter’s leadership and coach sAw’s guidance, the team transformed doubts into one of the biggest upsets in Counter-Strike this year.

A Map-by-Map Thriller

The grand final was a best-of-five showdown, and each map told its own story.

  • Dust II (Vitality’s pick, Winner: G2)

    • G2 opened strong on defense, shutting down Vitality with ease. With MATYS leading the charge, they dominated 13-3, leaving Vitality stunned.

  • Mirage (G2’s pick, Winner: Vitality)

    • Vitality bounced back, thanks to ZyWoo’s insane 30 kills. While G2 started hot, they fell apart on defense, and Vitality tied the series 1-1.

  • Overpass (Vitality’s pick, Winner: Vitality)

    • A repeat of Mirage. Vitality’s offense clicked, and despite G2 salvaging a few rounds, they couldn’t hold on. ZyWoo once again topped the charts, pushing his team to series point.

  • Inferno (G2’s pick, Winner: G2)

    • This was the turning point. Vitality looked ready to close out the series, but G2 clawed back with clever tactics. In overtime, they swept the first half and converted it into a dramatic 16-12 win, forcing a decider.

  • Train (Decider, Winner: G2)

    • With everything on the line, G2’s defense held firm. They built an 8-4 halftime lead and never looked back, finishing 13-6. It was the perfect exclamation mark to a Cinderella run.

  1. Semifinals – Defeated MOUZ 2-0

    • Mirage: 13-7

    • Inferno: 13-8

Viewership Stats

According to Esports Charts, the BLAST Open London peaked at 701,545 viewers, a noticeable dip compared to last year’s NAVI vs. G2 final, which crossed 900,000. Still, the longer tournament format this year added more hours watched overall, which somewhat balanced the decline in peak numbers.
