The nominees for the Gamescom Award 2025 have officially been revealed, with an international jury of gaming journalists and content creators shortlisting some of the year’s most anticipated titles.
The lineup spans across ARTS, PLATFORM, and GLOBAL categories, showcasing everything from AAA blockbusters to unique indie gems.
One of the biggest standouts this year is Resident Evil Requiem from Capcom Entertainment. The game has secured multiple nominations, including Best Visuals, Best Audio, Best Gameplay, and Most Epic, making it one of the strongest contenders across the board. Capcom’s horror franchise has a history of dominating award lists, and this latest entry seems poised to continue that momentum.
Meanwhile, the PLATFORM categories highlight competition across consoles and PC. Big names such as Borderlands 4 by Gearbox Software/2K, Crimson Desert from Pearl Abyss, and Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree by Brownies Inc./Bandai Namco Entertainment are all in the running. Nintendo’s Donkey Kong Bananza and Mario Kart World also earned spots, especially in the Switch 2 category.
Gamescom has also expanded its GLOBAL categories for 2025. Alongside the long-running HEART OF GAMING Award, new jury-voted prizes like Best Lineup, Best Booth (Jury Award), and Best Business Booth have been introduced. On the consumer side, fans will have the final say in Best Trailer/Announcement, Best Merch, and Best Booth (Consumer Award) — categories designed to reflect community passion as much as industry recognition.
Voting for fan-driven awards will be open both online and on-site. From Wednesday, August 20, to Thursday, August 21, at 2:00 PM (CEST), visitors can submit their picks via the official gamescom website or by scanning QR codes available throughout the event.
