Ghost of Yotei has made a strong debut in the GSD European charts, landing at No.2 in its opening week.

The PS5 exclusive launched on October 2, 2025, and its early sales are reportedly in line with Ghost of Tsushima, the 2020 PS4 hit from the same studio. That’s no small feat, considering Tsushima benefited from the COVID-19 lockdown, which drove record-breaking video game sales worldwide.

According to GSD data (via The Game Business), Ghost of Yotei is now Sony’s biggest first-party PlayStation launch since Spider-Man 2 in October 2023.

While impressive, it couldn't quite surpass EA Sports FC 26, which maintained its top spot for the third week in a row, even with a 62% decline in sales.

Other New Entries in the Top Ten

The week wasn’t just about Sony. At No.3, Nintendo launched the Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 double pack for the Switch. While the collection sold only about a quarter of what the Super Mario 3D All-Stars bundle managed back in 2020, analysts suggest this may be due to digital sales not being counted, as Nintendo doesn’t share eShop data. Many players may have opted to buy the games separately online, especially since Galaxy 1 was already part of the 3D All-Stars release.

Other fresh entries included Digimon Story: Time Stranger at No.4 and Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles at No.10.

The Steam Autumn Sale also had a massive impact on the charts. Games like Doom Eternal (No.5), Far Cry Primal (No.6), and South Park: The Fractured But Whole (No.9) surged back into the Top Ten thanks to steep discounts, with South Park seeing a staggering 13,000% increase in sales.
