It’s official — Grand Theft Auto V has claimed the number one spot in both dollar and unit sales for PlayStation platforms in the United States.

The data, shared by Mat Piscatella from Circana’s U.S. Retail Tracking Service, covers the period from January 1995 to July 2025 and includes both physical and full-game digital sales from publishers in the Digital Leader Panel.

Rockstar Games has more than one reason to celebrate. Red Dead Redemption II also secured a third spot for both revenue and units sold, proving that the studio’s open-world epics have incredible staying power.

And it’s not just GTA V — the franchise as a whole is well-represented, with Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City also making the list.

But if we’re talking dominance, Call of Duty is the clear winner here. The franchise holds an astonishing 13 out of the 20 spots across both rankings, covering multiple sub-series like Modern Warfare, Black Ops, and WWII.

Among them, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) stands out as the highest-ranking COD title in dollar sales, sitting just behind GTA V overall. Surprisingly, the latest entry, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, has already broken into the top five for revenue and is at 11th for units sold.

Marvel’s Spider-Man and its sequels (Miles Morales and Spider-Man 2) all appear, showing that Insomniac’s take on the web-slinger has struck a chord with PlayStation fans.

Minecraft continues to be a juggernaut, ranking second in unit sales, while classics like Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, The Last of Us, and God of War (2018) remind us of PlayStation’s diverse library.
