GTA 6 Standard vs Ultimate Edition: Price, Bonuses, and Pre-Order Details Explained

Rockstar Games has officially confirmed the price of Grand Theft Auto 6, along with full details on the game's two editions and pre-order bonuses.
The standard edition will retail for $79.99, while the Ultimate Edition is priced at $99.99.
Pre-orders for both PS5 and Xbox Series X|S go live at "midnight local time" on June 25, 2026.

What Do You Get With the Standard Edition?
The base edition of GTA 6 comes with the full game and no additional frills. That said, anyone who pre-orders or purchases the game before November 20 will receive the Vintage Vice City Pack.
According to Rockstar, this bundle flashes back to "when the neon burned brightest" and includes the following:
The '55 Vapid Stanier sedan and Shore Court Garage near Ocean Beach
Exclusive outfits and hairstyles for both protagonists, Jason and Lucia
An exclusive weapon pattern inspired by the original Vice City kingpin Tommy Vercetti
Digital pre-orders will also receive a free month of GTA+, Rockstar's online subscription service. It is worth noting, however, that GTA Online will not be available at launch. Rockstar confirmed on the PlayStation website that "Grand Theft Auto VI is a single-player experience," at least at release. Whatever form GTA Online takes for GTA 6 will presumably be announced and rolled out separately down the line.
What's Inside the GTA 6 Ultimate Edition?
For an extra $20, the Ultimate Edition packs in a significant amount of content. Rockstar says the edition "amplifies this experience with an exclusive collection of premium vehicles, weapons, apparel, and action threaded across all aspects of Jason and Lucia's story."
The bonuses unlock progressively throughout the game, with new items tied to each chapter. Here is everything included:

That is a hefty list. Five of the in-game stores are locked exclusively behind the Ultimate Edition, including the tattoo parlour, two vehicle mod shops, a salon, and a clothing store. This has already sparked debate among fans, with many feeling that locking single-player content behind a premium tier is a questionable move. It is a fair point. Customisation is a core part of how players express themselves in GTA, and writing off that content for standard buyers does sting a little.
Is There Early Access for Ultimate Edition Buyers?
No. Rockstar has not offered any early access period for either edition of the game. That is a notable absence, given that early access has become standard practice across the industry, with some publishers offering anywhere from two to ten days of early play for premium buyers. According to the details published by Rockstar, both the Standard and Ultimate Editions launch on the same date for everyone: November 19, 2026.
It should not come as a huge surprise, though. Rockstar has not offered early access for a full game release in the past. The studio does not need to, frankly. GTA 6 will sell regardless, and Rockstar knows that.
What About Physical Copies?
Here is where things get a bit disappointing for collectors. Physical editions of GTA 6 will not include a game disc. Instead, buyers will find a download code inside the box. This applies to both the Standard and Ultimate Editions.
As per reports, one reason Rockstar may have gone this route is to prevent early access. Physical copies sometimes ship before launch day, and a disc-based version landing in someone's hands early could lead to leaks and footage going public before Rockstar is ready. With a launch of this scale, that is a risk the studio clearly was not willing to take.
The decision is still a blow for physical media enthusiasts. Back in 2013, the physical Ultimate Edition of GTA 5 included a collectible map and a steelbook case. That kind of tangible bonus is nowhere to be found here.
When Can You Pre-Load the Game?
Anyone who pre-orders a digital copy of GTA 6 will be able to pre-load the game starting November 12, a week before the November 19 launch date. Physical edition buyers will also be able to redeem their download codes from the same date to get the game installed and ready ahead of launch.
Is GTA 6 Coming to PS5 Pro?
Yes. Images of the PlayStation Store listing that began circulating online after pre-orders went live in New Zealand appear to show a PS5 Pro Enhanced tag attached to GTA 6. Rockstar and Sony have not officially outlined what those enhancements entail, but based on other supported titles, improvements to image quality and performance through PSSR are likely. Many players are hoping the PS5 Pro version will deliver a stable 60fps alongside near-4K visuals. For now, those specifics remain unconfirmed.

At $79.99 for the standard edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition, the pricing lands roughly where most people expected, though the content locked behind the higher tier is already drawing criticism.
