Take-Two Interactive has wrapped up its fiscal year 2026 on a strong note, reporting significant year-over-year growth in both revenue and bookings, while firmly reaffirming November 19, 2026, as the release date for Grand Theft Auto 6.

Breaking Down the Numbers
For the financial year ending March 31, 2026:
Net revenue: $6.2 billion, up 19% year-over-year
Net bookings: $6.72 billion, up 19% year-over-year
Net loss: $298.2 million, down 93% year-over-year
For Q4 alone (January to March 2026):
Net revenue: $1.7 billion, up 6% year-on-year
Net bookings: $1.58 billion, flat year-on-year
Net loss: $59.6 million, down 98% year-on-year
Recurrent consumer spending made up 82% of total net bookings in the quarter, with mobile recurrent spending up 7% and Grand Theft Auto Online seeing a 5% rise.
GTA 6 Is Coming November 19. Yes, Really.
If there were any lingering doubts about Grand Theft Auto 6 meeting its announced release date, CEO Strauss Zelnick put them to rest for good. Speaking ahead of the earnings release, Zelnick told IGN, "I've been saying for some time that the release date is November 19. We obviously reiterated that today, so we feel really good about it."
The game is set to launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S, with a PC release expected sometime in 2027.
As for the marketing push, Rockstar is planning to kick things off in summer 2026. Zelnick clarified the timeline when speaking to Variety: "So the next few weeks I don't think it'll be summertime yet, but when it's summertime, Rockstar expects to start marketing GTA 6." Pre-orders are expected to go live at the same time.
One question that remains unanswered is pricing. When asked directly whether a GTA 6 price announcement was coming alongside the earnings release, Zelnick was blunt: "No. We never make marketing announcements in our analyst calls. Never ever ever." The industry, of course, is watching closely to see whether Rockstar will push past the standard $70 price point.
FY2027 Guidance: $8 Billion and a "Breakout Year"
Take-Two's guidance for the fiscal year ending March 2027 is ambitious. The company is projecting net bookings between $8 billion and $8.2 billion, with net revenue expected to fall between $7.9 billion and $8.1 billion. That would represent a year-over-year increase of roughly 27% to 31% on the revenue side.
The math is pretty clear. According to the company's own figures, GTA 6 could account for up to $1.5 billion of that jump on its own. As per reports by Business Insider, Take-Two is estimated to have spent between $1 billion and $1.5 billion on developing the game so far. That is a staggering investment, though one that the company seems confident will pay off.
Zelnick described fiscal 2027 as being "poised to be a breakout year" for the company, going on to say that "We expect to sustain this higher level of scale, generate strong cash flows, and deliver long-term shareholder value as we release our robust development pipeline, continue to optimise our live services and capitalise on new business opportunities."
GTA 5 Hits 230 Million. GTA Online Keeps Growing.
While all eyes are on the next instalment, the current one just keeps selling. Grand Theft Auto 5 has now surpassed 230 million copies sold, up from 225 million just a quarter ago. That works out to roughly 5 million copies every three months, which is a staggering pace for a game originally released in 2013. The Grand Theft Auto franchise as a whole has now sold nearly 470 million units worldwide.
GTA Online continues to exceed expectations as well, posting 5% year-over-year growth in recurrent consumer spending. The A Safehouse in the Hills update was singled out as one of the best-performing updates the game has ever had. The GTA Plus subscription service also saw what Take-Two called "significant growth."
Red Dead Redemption 2 Overtakes Wii Sports
In perhaps one of the more surprising highlights of the report, Red Dead Redemption 2 has now sold over 85 million copies, up from 82 million in February. More notably, the game just had its best sales year since its launch year back in 2018. That consistent momentum has pushed it past Wii Sports to become the third best-selling game of all time, sitting behind only Minecraft and Grand Theft Auto 5.
The Red Dead series as a whole has now crossed 115 million units sold.
Mobile is Half the Business. NBA 2K Sets Records.
One thing that often gets overlooked in all the GTA noise is just how significant mobile has become for Take-Two. Mobile represented 50% of the company's net revenue for FY2026, compared to console's 11% and PC and other at 39%. Zelnick acknowledged this directly, noting that "mobile's about half our business, which is probably exactly where it ought to be," pointing to large audiences in markets like India and Africa where smartphones are far more accessible than consoles or PCs.
Zynga, the mobile specialist Take-Two acquired for $12.7 billion in 2022, achieved its highest level of net bookings since the acquisition. Titles including Toon Blast, Match Factory, and Empires and Puzzles all contributed to that result.

On the sports side, NBA 2K recorded "record net bookings and recurrent consumer spending" for the full year, with recurrent spending up 10%. NBA 2K26 has shipped 10 million units to date.
What Is Coming Next: 29 Titles Through FY2029
Beyond GTA 6, Take-Two has laid out an ambitious pipeline. According to the company's earnings report, 29 titles are planned between FY2027 and FY2029. That slate includes three mobile games, eight sports titles (including NBA 2K27, PGA TOUR 2K27, and WWE 2K27), 15 titles based on existing core IPs, and three brand-new core IP launches.
Two of those new IPs have been named: Judas from Ghost Story Games and Project Ethos from 31st Union. Neither is expected to arrive within the next 12 months. BioShock 4 also remains on the list as TBA, with Zelnick having previously admitted he was "deeply disappointed" by how that game's development has progressed.
