Rockstar Games announced a major new update titled “Money Fronts” for Grand Theft Auto Online, set to launch on June 17, 2025. It adds a slick new money laundering system, a handful of front businesses, fresh vehicles, missions, and several quality-of-life upgrades.

And the best part? It’s free for everyone who owns either GTA V or the standalone GTA Online. The update is live on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.

Core Concept: Money Laundering Operation

At the heart of the “Money Fronts” update is the idea of running seemingly legit businesses to clean dirty money from your criminal ventures. You’ll be working with Martin Madrazo, the familiar cartel boss, along with some new advisors who help you get your money laundering empire up and running. Your goal is to keep operations looking legal while secretly moving large amounts of illicit cash under the radar.

Heat System

Illegal activity now comes with a catch — a Heat system. This new mechanic tracks how much attention you’re drawing from the cops. If your Heat level gets too high, your passive income takes a hit. To cool things down, you’ll need to put in some work on the legit side of your fronts — think managing the car wash or dispensary — to stay in business.

New Businesses

You can now purchase and manage three San Andreas businesses. Each serves as a money-laundering front and helps increase profits from other criminal activities:

  • Hands On Car Wash (Strawberry): Your main base of operations. It’s a cash-heavy business perfect for flying under the radar. You start with this one, and it pulls passive income from your existing empire. Occasionally, you’ll need to jump in to run it properly and avoid drawing too much attention.

  • Smoke on the Water (Vespucci Beach): A legal cannabis shop you unlock after setting up your car wash. It connects with your Weed Farm to boost profits. Just like the others, balancing the legal front is key to keeping Heat down.

  • Higgins Helitours (Puerta Del Sol): A flashy helicopter tour company that ties into your Air Freight Cargo operations. Again, the goal is to juggle legit business tasks with your underground empire to keep the money flowing.

These new fronts blend into your existing criminal empire, offering a fresh loop that’s more about strategy than shootouts. Think Breaking Bad’s car wash — just minus the meth lab.

New Vehicles

Plenty of new rides are rolling in, some on launch day and others in waves over time:

  • Överflöd Suzume (Supercar): Early access for GTA+ members, later for everyone else.

  • Karin Everon RS (SUV): A rugged new SUV option.

  • Woodlander (SUV): Another choice for off-roaders.

  • Declasse Tampa GT (Muscle Car): A muscle car with serious punch.

  • Western Police Bike: Available for purchase, tied to new Dispatch missions and comes with the Summer Highway Patrol Outfit for players into roleplay.

Also, 50 existing vehicles now support Missile Lock-On Jammers, finally giving players some relief from griefers on Oppressors during sell missions.

New Missions & Gameplay

  • Money Laundering Missions: These missions focus on managing and expanding your business network. Instead of all-out action, they’re about smart management and making the right calls.

  • Dispatch Work: Law enforcement-themed missions designed for players looking for a bit of cop roleplay.

  • Heat Management: Keeping that Heat bar low is the name of the game. Too much illegal action? You'll need to fall back on running your front businesses to cool things down.

Quality-of-Life Upgrades

A bunch of fan-requested improvements are also packed in:

  • Missile Lock-On Jammers added to 50 more vehicles

  • Skippable cutscenes for certain mission replays

  • Double Arena Points for all Arena War content

  • Boxville Van removed from Biker Sell Missions (finally!)

  • Delayed Global Signal Timer in public sessions — giving you more breathing room during sell missions

GTA+ Member Perks

GTA+ subscribers get a few nice extras with this update:

  • Early access to the Överflöd Suzume

  • A second daily spin at the Diamond Casino Lucky Wheel

  • More perks coming later, as usual
