Ubisoft has brought in indie publisher Hooded Horse to handle publishing duties for the upcoming Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era, a turn-based strategy title being developed by Unfrozen. While Ubisoft still owns the Heroes of Might and Magic franchise, Hooded Horse will now take over the day-to-day publishing operations for the game.
According to a statement from Unfrozen, the new partnership is expected to bring improved marketing support, greater visibility, and a broader regional reach.
Ubisoft’s chief publishing officer Alain Corre expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, highlighting Hooded Horse’s deep connection with strategy gaming communities as a major asset. “Their passion for the franchise and strong connection with strategy communities makes them the perfect complement to Unfrozen’s creative talent,” he said.
Tim Bender, CEO of Hooded Horse, also acknowledged the legacy of the franchise, calling it “a legendary series” with a special place in the hearts of many gamers. He noted that working with both Ubisoft and Unfrozen is an honor, and emphasized the publisher’s commitment to helping the title succeed.
Unfrozen’s CEO Denis Fedorov echoed the sentiment, expressing confidence that the combined strengths of Ubisoft and Hooded Horse will elevate Olden Era and help it connect with a global audience of tactical strategy fans.
Originally revealed in August 2024, Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era has seen its early access window delayed, with the new release timeframe now set for late 2025.
