It looks like Marvel’s Wolverine from Insomniac Games might finally be stepping back into the spotlight.
A new report suggests PlayStation is lining up another State of Play for late September 2025 — and this time, the adamantium‑clawed mutant could be front and center.
Just yesterday, PlayStation held a State of Play focused entirely on 007: First Light. While that was a treat for Bond fans, it left many wondering if another showcase was coming. According to Insider Gaming, sources claim a second event is indeed on the way and will “almost certainly” feature Wolverine.
The report even notes that a fresh trailer is already complete. If it doesn’t drop this month, The Game Awards later this year is the next likely stage.
Development hasn’t been all smooth sailing. As per previous reports, the 2023 ransomware attack on Insomniac leaked sensitive data and early gameplay footage, forcing some internal changes. Exactly how much the plan shifted remains unclear, but the studio has kept details locked down.
No release date has been confirmed yet, though Wolverine is still set as a PlayStation 5 exclusive. If the rumored September showcase happens, fans might also see updates on Bungie’s Marathon, Phantom Blade 0, a new Metroidvania‑style God of War, Naughty Dog’s Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, and a deeper dive into Ghost of Yotei ahead of its October 2 launch.
For now, it’s still a rumor — but if true, we could be just weeks away from seeing Logan unsheathe those claws again.
