Jason Momoa and WWE superstar Roman Reigns are the latest actors being considered for Legendary Entertainment's upcoming Street Fighter movie.

According to Deadline, both Momoa and Roman Reigns are currently in discussions with the studio for undisclosed roles in the film.

This news comes as the project continues to build momentum toward its planned March 2026 release date. The specific characters these actors might portray remain under wraps, adding to the speculation surrounding the casting choices.

Jason Momoa brings significant star power to the project following his recent success in A Minecraft Movie, which has generated nearly $1 billion at the global box office. His involvement suggests Legendary Entertainment is aiming for another blockbuster video game adaptation. The actor has proven his ability to handle action-heavy roles and has a strong fan base that could help drive interest in the Street Fighter film.

Roman Reigns, whose real name is Leati Joseph Anoa'i, represents an interesting crossover from professional wrestling to Hollywood. Former WWE champion held one of the longest world title reigns in the company's history and has already shown his acting potential in films like Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw and The Wrong Missy. His physical presence and combat experience from wrestling make him a natural fit for the martial arts-focused Street Fighter universe.

The casting discussions come as the Street Fighter movie project gains momentum under director Kitao Sakurai, who took over directing duties in February. Sakurai, known for his work on Bad Trip, replaced the original directors Danny and Michael Philippou from Talk To Me.

Earlier, Andrew Koji from Bullet Train and Noah Centineo from The Recruit were reported to be in consideration for roles in the adaptation. The latest report also confirms their names.

Capcom, the company behind the Street Fighter video game franchise, remains deeply involved in the film's development. This collaboration between the gaming giant and Legendary Entertainment aims to ensure the movie stays faithful to the source material.

The Street Fighter series, which first launched in 1987, revolves around intense martial arts battles between fighters from around the world. The games typically feature global tournaments organized by the villainous M. Bison and his evil organization Shadaloo. With over 55 million units sold worldwide, Street Fighter ranks among the most successful video game franchises in history.

Legendary Entertainment acquired the exclusive film and TV rights to Street Fighter in 2023. The studio’s success with A Minecraft Movie proves it has the capability to turn game franchises into box office hits. With Street Fighter, the studio aims to replicate that formula—blending fan service, action, and star power to create a compelling cinematic experience.
