Kaká Outplays Ronaldo Nazário in EA SPORTS FC 25 Showmatch at EWC 2025

The Esports World Cup 2025 Showmatch wrapped up with Kaká clinching a 2-1 series victory over fellow Brazilian legend Ronaldo Nazário in EA SPORTS FC 25.
The event, held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, mixed football nostalgia with esports energy in a creative set inspired by Brazilian street football and classic memorabilia.
The best-of-three format kicked off with a classic match. Kaká grabbed a 3-2 win, scoring the decider in the 90th minute. Ronaldo, admittedly rusty and unaware of the sprint button early on, found his rhythm but couldn’t close the gap.
Game two’s Mystery Ball mode turned chaotic fast, with boosts and goal multipliers making every shot count. Kaká, having trained with his son Luca, dominated 11-6 despite Ronaldo’s attempts to claw back.
In the final Survival mode match, Ronaldo finally mastered sprinting and looked sharper, but Kaká still edged out a 3-2 win. On aggregate, Kaká sealed the day 17-10.
As per tournament tradition, Kaká crushed Ronaldo’s official EWC key after the match.
In good spirits, Ronaldo then threw down a playful challenge for next year: a rematch in Call of Duty: Warzone. “Next time, next year, we play Warzone,” he told the crowd, hinting at his long-standing love for the shooter.
The strong Brazilian fan presence in Riyadh brought extra energy to the event, and the match drew high interaction on streaming platforms. Organizers have hinted this could be the start of an “Icon League” featuring more football legends in future gaming matchups.
The Showmatch also built hype for the upcoming FC Pro World Championship, boasting a $1 million prize pool.
And as a fun side note, Cristiano Ronaldo remains the Esports World Cup 2025 Global Ambassador — proving that when football meets esports, the star power only multiplies.
