Just hours before launch (check out timing), Killing Floor 3 developer Tripwire Interactive has dropped their Year 1 roadmap. If you've been around the Killing Floor scene for a while, you know the drill – launch day is really just the starting line, not the finish.

What's Coming in the Rearmament Update

The first major content drop is bringing some serious firepower to the table. Three new weapons are heading our way:

  • M14 EBR Mod 0 (plus 4 weapon mods)

  • MKR-350 Assault Rifle (4 mods included)

  • Streik Dual Defender Shotgun (3 mods to play with)

But the real game-changer? They're finally decoupling perks and specialists. That means you'll be able to mix and match any specialist with any perk – something the community has been asking for since the beta days.

Performance Reality Check

Here's where things get a bit real – Tripwire's being upfront about performance issues. The game's currently CPU-bound, which means a lot of systems are going to struggle at launch. They're actively working on optimization and have some workarounds posted on their support site, but expect some growing pains in those first few weeks.

Launch day hotfixes are already planned, which shows they're taking the performance concerns seriously. [Check out the SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS]

The roadmap looks ambitious without being overly promising. Free content drops, regular weapon additions, and quality-of-life improvements should keep the community engaged throughout 2025 and into 2026. Just temper your expectations for that day-one performance – it might take a few patches to get things running smooth as butter.
