Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Hits 3 Million Sales, Lifts Franchise Past 10 Million Mark

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is off to a blazing start. Warhorse Studios has announced that the medieval RPG sequel has sold over 3 million copies within just three months, pushing the total franchise sales past 10 million units. Not bad for a historically grounded, no-magic RPG.

The game, which launched on February 4, 2025, wasted no time racking up big numbers—1 million copies sold in 24 hours, 2 million within two weeks, and now, the 3-million milestone.

The launch-day buzz was real, with over 256,000 concurrent players on Steam at its peak. Even now, months later, it’s holding onto around 10% of that—an impressive retention rate for a single-player experience.

A Win for Warhorse—and Embracer

The timing couldn’t be better for publisher Embracer Group, which has been dealing with layoffs, studio closures, and a failed funding deal that shook its financial foundations. The success of Deliverance 2 offers a much-needed lift, both in terms of revenue and reputation.

Critics are on board too. The game currently holds a Metacritic score of 88 (PC) and a 96% recommendation rating on OpenCritic. On Steam, nearly 97,000 reviews have netted a 94% positive rating, solidifying its spot as one of the most beloved RPGs of the year so far.

More Content Is Coming

Warhorse isn’t slowing down. They’ve already added Steam Workshop mod support, letting players create and share their own content. And that’s just the beginning.

The game’s post-launch roadmap includes:

  • Free updates, like horse racing and a new Hardcore Mode

  • Three paid expansions, starting with Brushes with Death in May 2025, which will introduce new quests, shield customization, and various gameplay tweaks

  • The other two expansions - Legacy of the Forge and Mysteria Ecclesia expected to launch later this year.

The original Kingdom Come: Deliverance (2018) was already a cult hit thanks to its deep realism and focus on historical authenticity. But the sequel has clearly pushed the series into the mainstream.

With momentum on its side and more content on the way, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is shaping up to be one of Embracer Group’s strongest assets in a turbulent year.
