Konami has officially announced that a remake of the original Silent Hill is now in development, with Bloober Team once again taking the lead on the project.

This reveal came during the Konami Press Start 2025 showcase, bringing long-standing rumors to a close and confirming that the classic 1999 horror game is being revived for a modern audience.

Bloober Team, the Polish developer known for psychological horror games like Layers of Fear and The Medium, is returning after their work on the Silent Hill 2 remake, which launched in October 2024 to positive reception.

The original Silent Hill follows the story of Harry Mason, who searches for his missing daughter in a fog-covered town filled with disturbing monsters and psychological horror elements. The game was a defining title in the horror genre and helped establish Silent Hill as a major franchise in the early 2000s.

A short teaser, around 25 seconds long, was also released, featuring foggy visuals and the haunting original music from the 1999 game. While the trailer didn’t reveal characters or gameplay, its tone stayed true to the unsettling atmosphere the series is known for.

With the success of Silent Hill 2 Remake behind them, expectations are high for Bloober Team to deliver once again. The studio has been praised for its visual fidelity, intense atmosphere, and faithful yet updated storytelling in their past work. This new remake could serve as a fresh entry point for newcomers and a nostalgic return for longtime fans.

More details about the Silent Hill remake are expected to be revealed in the coming months.
