The upcoming James Bond game 007: First Light may have found its theme song performer, and it’s a name that fits the franchise’s legacy of iconic music.
IO Interactive’s Bond project, set to release on March 27, 2026, is already one of the most anticipated titles of next year. The studio behind Hitman has promised a younger, more reckless Bond, and now it seems the soundtrack could match that energy.
According to a Reddit thread on the r/lanadelrey subreddit, fans spotted a new ASCAP registration for a track titled First Light. The filing is linked to none other than Lana Del Rey, sparking speculation that she may be the voice behind the game’s opening theme.
Del Rey, known for her cinematic and melancholic pop style, has been nominated for multiple Grammys and is no stranger to film tie‑ins. Her track Young and Beautiful was a centerpiece of The Great Gatsby adaptation, and her moody vocals have long been considered a natural fit for Bond. She even once submitted a song for Spectre, only to be passed over in favor of Sam Smith’s Writing’s On the Wall.
Of course, nothing is confirmed yet. The ASCAP listing could just as easily be tied to her upcoming album Stove, due in 2026.
