Dream Games has launched what industry experts believe may be the most expensive celebrity ad campaign ever created for a mobile game.
The company's star-studded promotion for Royal Kingdom features an impressive lineup of A-list celebrities that has caught attention across social media platforms.
The campaign's centerpiece is basketball legend LeBron James, who reportedly commanded an extraordinary fee for his participation. According to Mobilegamer.biz, James could have earned up to $1.5 to $4 million for his appearance.
The celebrity roster doesn't stop there. Global music superstar Shakira and popular television host Jimmy Fallon each likely pocketed around $1 million for their roles promoting the game. Meanwhile, "The Big Bang Theory" stars Kaley Cuoco and Johnny Galecki are believed to have split roughly $1 million between them, each earning approximately $500,000 for their Royal Kingdom advertisement spots.
The financial commitment goes far beyond just talent fees. When factoring in production expenses and media buying costs, Dream Games is likely investing tens of millions of dollars in this campaign alone. This represents a significant evolution in mobile game marketing, where companies are now willing to spend at Hollywood blockbuster levels to attract players.
The strategy appears to be yielding early results. Data from Appmagic shows Royal Kingdom's daily downloads have increased dramatically since the campaign launched two weeks ago. Weekend installations jumped from approximately 80,000 per day before the ads to over 300,000 daily downloads recently. Revenue has also seen an uptick, though less dramatic than the download increase.
