Liminal City releases today on Steam, offering players a psychological horror experience unlike most traditional titles.
Developed by LIGHTWORKER GAMES, Liminal City takes inspiration from the eerie Backrooms lore, specifically Level 11, often referred to as the “Infinite City.”
Instead of monsters or loud jump scares, the game focuses on unsettling silence, VHS‑style visuals, and the creeping dread of wandering through an endless, uninhabited city. If you’ve ever wanted to feel truly alone in a digital world, this is the kind of horror that gets under your skin.

Key features include ultra‑realistic VHS aesthetics built in Unreal Engine 5, realistic camera movements, and psychological tension that grows the longer you wander. Mystery and exploration drive the experience, with secret passages and anomalies waiting to be discovered. The developer even teases that “you may think you’re alone, but in the shadows, someone notices you.”
