Little Nightmares III is officially launching on October 10, 2025, across all major platforms including PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Switch 2.

Bandai Namco dropped the release date during its recent showcase event, along with a solid 10-minute gameplay walkthrough.

This time around, players will step into the shoes of Low and Alone, two kids trying to escape the twisted world known as the Nowhere. They're best friends just trying to survive, and their journey leads them to a rundown amusement park called Carnevale — which is about as cheerful as a haunted house on a stormy night.

The Carnevale chapter is packed with classic Little Nightmares vibes: gloomy visuals, disturbing puppet-like enemies, and background details that make your skin crawl. The environment is a chaotic mix of flickering lights, creepy barkers, and hulking creatures known as the Herd, who are too busy stuffing their faces and playing rigged games to notice you — unless you make too much noise. At times, you’ll even have to bait them into causing chaos to clear your path.

Low and Alone will each wield tools—Low has a bow, Alone carries a wrench—and teamwork is clearly key to progressing.

The game is available to pre-order now (except for Switch and Switch 2, which will open up later), and comes in several editions:

  • Standard Edition

  • Digital Deluxe Edition, with the Secrets of The Spiral Expansion Pass and a Residents Costumes Pack

  • Collector “Mirror Edition”, which includes a figurine, steelbook, artbook, soundtrack, and stickers

  • Premium Collector “Spiral Edition”, exclusive to Bandai Namco’s store, which comes with all of the above plus a music box base, Nome controller holder, and a double-sided coin featuring Low and Alone

Pre-ordering the game digitally also unlocks early access to Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition — a revamped version of the first game with ray tracing, improved lighting, better checkpoints, and new accessibility features. That’ll be available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC starting October 10.

The showcase didn’t stop at the game, though. Bandai Namco also celebrated a major milestone: the Little Nightmares franchise has now sold over 20 million units since 2017. And to keep the momentum going, the creepy universe is expanding into other media:

  • A second season of The Sounds of Nightmares podcast is on the way, following 2 million listens so far.

  • Little Nightmares: Descent to Nowhere, a new comic from Titan Comics, drops in October and tells two interwoven stories—one about a mute girl named Hush, the other about a worn-out detective looking into missing children cases.

  • Little Nightmares: The Lonely Ones, a young adult horror novel by E.C. Myers, releases in September. It follows a girl named Ruse and her mysterious companions trapped in what seems to be a terrifying carnival.

  • Lastly, a stop-motion animated project is in the works with Mexican studio Taller del Chucho. Details are still under wraps, but more info is expected soon.

And if that wasn’t enough, Little Nightmares VR: Altered Echoes is also in development, being handled by Iconik Studio. Not much has been revealed just yet, but VR fans can definitely look forward to stepping into the nightmare firsthand.
