After years of waiting, the iconic rhythm-puzzle franchise Lumines is finally making its long-awaited return with Lumines Arise, launching November 11, 2025, for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam.
This new entry marks the series’ first major console release since Lumines: Electronic Symphony in 2012 and the first original title since 2018’s Lumines Remastered.

Two editions are available at launch:
Standard Edition – $39.99
Digital Deluxe Edition – $44.99 (includes extra soundtracks, skins, and exclusive avatars). PS Plus subscribers can grab a 10% pre-order discount.
The Deluxe Edition packs some cool crossover bonuses like Astro Bot and Rez Infinite avatars, plus exclusive Tetris Effect and HUMANITY cosmetics. It also includes a digital soundtrack that highlights music from Hydelic and Takako Ishida, known for their emotionally charged compositions.
As for gameplay, Lumines Arise sticks to its roots. You’re still rotating 2x2 colored blocks and syncing clears to the beat, but there’s a new “Burst” mechanic that lets you time your clears for massive combos. Multiplayer gets a fun twist too, with Burst Battle mode, where players drop garbage blocks on opponents while vibing to the music.
Enhance promises over 35 handcrafted stages, each with its own theme, from neon-soaked Tokyo nights to serene jungles and cosmic dreamscapes. The visuals are fully audio-reactive, making every move feel like part of a live music performance. And yes, Lumines Arise also supports PS VR2 and PC VR.
If you’ve ever lost yourself in Tetris Effect or Rez Infinite, this one might just be your next obsession.
