Marvel Rivals Season 2: Hellfire Gala Introduces Emma Frost and Ultron

Marvel Rivals Season 2, titled "Hellfire Gala," is set to launch on April 11, 2025, bringing an exciting update to NetEase's popular hero shooter. This season introduces two iconic Marvel characters to the playable roster: Emma Frost and Ultron.

The theme revolves around the glamorous Hellfire Gala, a notable event from the X-Men comics, set on the mutant island of Krakoa, which is stranded in the year 2099 due to a temporal storm.

Emma Frost, a prominent X-Men character known for her telepathic abilities and diamond-hard form, joins the game as a Vanguard-class hero at the season's start. She’s expected to bring a versatile playstyle, blending defensive and offensive capabilities, making her a much-needed addition to the game’s tank roster.

Ultron, the robotic Avengers villain, will arrive later in the season, likely during the mid-season update (Season 2.5). Speculation suggests he’ll be a Strategist, potentially the first flying character in this role, using drones to heal or support allies while disrupting enemies.

The season’s narrative centers on Emma Frost hosting the Hellfire Gala, only for Ultron to crash the festivities with an army of robots, turning Krakoa into a battleground.

Alongside the new heroes, Season 2 introduces a Krakoa map, new skins inspired by the Gala’s high-fashion vibe (featuring characters like Wolverine, Magneto, and Storm in stylish outfits), and possibly new mechanics like Krakoa Portals.

While fans anticipated characters like Blade after his Season 1 teases, Emma Frost and Ultron take the spotlight for now, aligning with the mutant-focused theme.
