NetEase has detailed several key changes coming to Marvel Rivals Season 3.5, and some of them are poised to shake up the competitive meta.
While the spotlight is mostly on Blade’s arrival as a Duelist, the mid-season update launching on August 8, 2025, also brings a major overhaul to Team-Up Abilities, which could impact hero synergies and gameplay strategies moving forward.
The update also includes a new map and game mode, improved toxicity moderation, and stricter penalties for competitive match quitters [Full details is here].
Here’s a full breakdown of every Team-Up Ability change in Season 3.5.
New Team-Up Abilities Introduced in Marvel Rivals Season 3.5
Two brand-new Team-Up Abilities are being added to the roster, focusing on Luna Snow, Adam Warlock, Mantis, Groot, and Loki. These fresh combinations add new offensive and support dynamics.
Team-Up Ability | Heroes | Effect |
Duality Dance | Luna Snow and Adam Warlock | Luna Snow heals the damage she takes and channels that same amount into a counterattack, dealing lethal damage back to enemies. |
Vibrant Vitality | Groot, Mantis, Loki | With Mantis as the anchor, Loki provides a damage boost to nearby teammates, while Groot’s walls gain healing properties. |
Removed Team-Up Abilities in Season 3.5
To make room for the new and updated pairings, two existing Team-Ups are being phased out:
Team-Up Ability | Heroes | Effect |
Guardian Revival | Adam Warlock, Mantis, Star-Lord | Warlock’s Regenerative Cocoon allows teammates to return from death as souls. However, the cooldown was lengthy, making it unreliable in frequent combat. |
Atlas Bond | Iron Fist and Luna Snow | Iron Fist infused Luna Snow with Chi, creating an icy blast that launched enemies, slowed them down, and healed allies. Both heroes also received passive enhancements. |
Reworked Team-Up Abilities
In addition to new and removed Team-Ups, several existing abilities have been tweaked or reassigned. These changes aren’t just cosmetic—they may significantly affect how these heroes interact in matches.
Loki has been removed from the Ragnarok Rebirth.
Iron Fist is now part of Chilling Assault, potentially creating new layered crowd-control strategies.
Star-Lord joins Rocket Network, which may focus more on area control and explosive setups.
Blade becomes part of Lunar Force, alongside Cloak & Dagger and Moon Knight.

One of the more exciting developments is how Lunar Force now includes Blade. Originally designed to grant Moon Knight invisibility via light and dark energy, the updated version now extends that benefit to Blade as well..
As we get closer to August 8, players can expect more developer insights and gameplay previews highlighting how these ability changes play out in practice. Until then, it might be wise to rethink your team compositions—and prepare for some unexpected combos.
