Marvel Rivals is expanding its seasonal lineup of “Summer Skins,” with wave 2 scheduled to release on September 18, 2025, as part of the Season 4 rollout.

This update adds new beach-themed looks for several heroes, building on the excitement of the first summer collection earlier this year.

The upcoming set includes five standout characters. The Thing from the Fantastic Four shows off a beach-ready style, swapping his rugged rocky appearance for a lighter vibe with a headband.

Human Torch, meanwhile, brings his usual fiery energy into a colorful summer outfit, while Invisible Woman makes her debut in an elegant yet casual beachwear look.

Joining them is Mantis from the Guardians of the Galaxy, styled in a vibrant, tropical-themed costume.

Interestingly, The Punisher, who appeared earlier with his tactical, skull-emblazoned gear, remains part of this wave despite his starkly different tone compared to the rest of the lineup.

The first batch of summer specials ran from July 17 to August 15 during Season 3. That wave introduced fan-favorite skins for Thor, Loki, Psylocke, and Luna Snow, inspired by Marvel’s Swimsuit Special comics.

However, these seasonal skins haven’t been without controversy. The first Summer Party event drew criticism from some players who felt the designs leaned too heavily into fan service, with online debates even labeling the game as a “gooner title.”

Game director Guangyun “Guangguang” Chen addressed these concerns last month. He explained that the team’s approach comes directly from Marvel’s comic history, noting that many of the skins, such as Psylocke’s “Vengeance” look, are based on classic references. “We adapt these designs with modern fashion influences so players can connect with them in new ways,” Chen said.
