Blade may soon be joining the Marvel Rivals roster, as players have spotted a new in-game hint pointing to his potential arrival.
Following the June 19 update—which primarily focused on balancing gameplay ahead of the new season starting July 11—players noticed something unusual in the spawn room of the Imperial Institute of Science. The bed where Blade was previously seen resting is now empty. This subtle change, shared by observant fans on Reddit, has reignited speculation about his long-anticipated debut as a playable character.
Blade's story has been woven into Marvel Rivals’ lore from the beginning. In Season One, Eternal Night Falls, he was captured by Dracula in Central Park and later rescued in the season finale. At the start of Season Two, Blade was seen recuperating on the Birnin T’Challa map, but with his bed now empty, players believe he’s finally ready for action.

Hints about Blade's playable status aren't new. According to previous datamining efforts, assets for the character were found months ago. While many assumed he'd appear this season, the spotlight instead shifted to Emma Frost and Ultron, introduced during the Hellfire Gala event.
Leaks suggest he will be a Duelist with a katana for melee combat, a shotgun for medium-range, and an ultimate ability called "New Moon," transforming him into a vampire form with potential lifesteal mechanics. However, Jean Grey (Phoenix) is also rumored for Season 3, which may delay Blade’s debut.
Nothing is confirmed yet. Still, fans can’t help but wonder if NetEase is gearing up for a surprise reveal soon.
