Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is set to get its first closed beta on PS5 from September 5 to 7, giving players an early chance to try out the upcoming 2D tag-team fighter.

Developed by PlayStation Studios, Arc System Works, and Marvel Games, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls was first revealed during Sony’s State of Play in June, with a full release planned for 2026.

Now, the developers are letting fans jump in for a limited-time closed beta next month, offering a taste of the action-packed roster and fast-paced gameplay.

A new closed beta announcement trailer, shared on YouTube, features reactions from content creators to the game’s reveal, along with fresh gameplay clips. Characters like Iron Man, Captain America, Doctor Doom, Ms. Marvel, Star-Lord, and Storm can be seen showing off their signature moves, special abilities, and unique playstyles.

According to the developers, the closed beta will include:

  • Online lobby matches and limited offline matches

  • Rollback netcode for smooth online play

  • Spectator mode for watching matches in real time

  • Three playable stages in Marvel’s New York — City Centre, Avengers Park, and Hell’s Kitchen

  • A startup battle tutorial for newcomers

Players interested in joining can register through the official PlayStation website. If selected, an invitation will be sent via email.

The team also noted that those encountering an "Invalid Link" error during sign-up may have already been pre-registered through the PlayStation Beta program.

For those unfamiliar, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is a 4v4 tag-team fighting game inspired by classic arcade brawlers but infused with Marvel’s iconic characters and worlds. It aims to deliver fast-paced combat, anime-style visuals, and authentic comic book-inspired stages.

During an Evo 2025 stage presentation, the developers stated they plan to support the game for the next 10 years, ensuring long-term content updates and competitive play.
