Appmagic’s latest report has revealed the biggest mobile game winners for August 2025, breaking down both downloads and in-app purchase revenue across the month. While Roblox continues to dominate the charts with record installs, Tencent’s Honor of Kings remains the undisputed leader in earnings.

Top Downloads of August

According to Appmagic data (via Mobilegamer), Roblox took the top spot with an impressive 33.2 million installs, boosted largely by the viral wave around Steal A Brainrot and Grow A Garden. This marks a steady increase of about 1.5 million compared to July, keeping the game’s momentum strong.

In second place, Block Blast pulled in 21.7 million downloads. However, this is its fourth consecutive month of decline since peaking back in April with 42 million installs.

Subway Surfers held steady with 17.1 million downloads, proving the endless runner’s long-term staying power.

The middle of the chart saw some consistency too. Pizza Ready maintained nearly 15 million installs, while Ludo King bounced back from its 2024 slump with 14.2 million.

Garena’s Free Fire and Free Fire Max both saw slight declines after July’s massive Naruto crossover, but still posted 13 million and 11.8 million installs, respectively.

Meanwhile, Royal Kingdom from Dream Games hit a milestone, breaking the 12 million mark for the first time, likely thanks to its celebrity ad campaign.

On the revenue front (via Mobilegamer), Honor of Kings led the pack with a staggering $173.1 million, while Roblox wasn’t far behind at $157.4 million.

PUBG Mobile secured third place with $132.1 million, its best earnings since early 2023, fueled by a Transformers collab and new Bonus Pass. Whiteout Survival and LastWar followed closely, each pulling in over $125 million, though LastWar saw a slight dip from July.

Other familiar names like Royal Match, Monopoly Go, and Candy Crush Saga continued to sit comfortably in the top ten, while Pokémon Go enjoyed a major spike to $71.4 million, thanks to its Dark Skies and Max Finale events.

Perhaps most surprising, though, was Clash Royale, which hit $68.2 million—its best month since 2017—mirroring the comeback story that Brawl Stars experienced last year.
