The global mobile gaming scene saw notable shifts in July 2025, with Roblox overtaking long-time leader Block Blast to claim the top spot in downloads, according to Appmagic data. The figures exclude China’s Android market but still provide a strong snapshot of trends shaping the industry.
Top 20 Most Downloaded Mobile Games – July 2025
Roblox recorded 37 million downloads last month, marking its best-ever monthly total. The surge comes as summer holidays drive higher player activity, alongside the growing buzz around its in-game hit Grow A Garden.
In contrast, Block Blast slipped to second with 26.5 million installs, continuing a three-month downward trend from its April peak. Still, year-on-year growth remains strong for Hungry Studio’s puzzle title, which more than doubled its July 2024 performance.
Subway Surfers also benefited from the holiday effect, climbing to 18.2 million downloads, while the biggest surprise was Tile Explorer from Chinese studio Learnings. The tile-matching puzzler jumped 17 spots to fourth place with 16 million installs, driven heavily by the Indian market, which accounted for 20% of its downloads.
