Mouse: P.I. For Hire has had a strong commercial start, selling approximately 730,000 copies across all platforms less than a month after its release.
The debut title from developer Fumi Games launched on April 16, 2026, following a small delay, and the reception from both players and critics has been genuinely positive.
Publisher PlaySide Studios officially announced the sales figures, confirming that the game has performed well beyond early expectations.
The 730,000 units sold cover all available platforms, including PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and Steam. What is particularly interesting here is the console performance. According to PlaySide, around 50% of total sales came from consoles, which the company attributes to the title maintaining "significant visibility on console storefronts."
On the financial side, the game has generated an estimated $21.4 million in gross platform sales since launch. After accounting for platform fees, VAT, and returns, the net revenue to PlaySide comes in at approximately $13 million. More importantly, as per the company's announcement, all milestone payments, publishing costs, and marketing expenses have now been fully recouped.
The game currently holds a "Very Positive" rating on Steam with a 94% review score, and it continues to maintain near-perfect scores on both the PlayStation Store and Xbox Marketplace.
PlaySide CEO Benn Skender shared his thoughts on the performance, saying: "The continued performance of Mouse: P.I. For Hire has been really pleasing and reflects the strength of the IP, the quality and persistence of effort from all teams, and the depth of player and social engagement we are seeing across every platform."
The strong launch has also prompted PlaySide to upgrade its revenue guidance for the financial year ending June 2026. The company now expects FY26 revenue to land between A$50 million and A$53 million, up from previous guidance that simply projected it would exceed FY25 reported revenue of A$48.7 million. Skender added: "The upgrade to FY26 revenue guidance reflects both the title's launch trajectory and our confidence in its ongoing commercial performance."
As for the game itself, Mouse: P.I. For Hire is a black-and-white vintage Disney-styled shooter featuring renowned actor Troy Baker, known for his work in The Last of Us and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Baker voices Jack Pepper, a cigar-munching protagonist whose adventures play out against a swinging orchestral score and lively cartoon animation.
PlaySide has stated it remains focused on supporting the title through its full lifecycle while continuing to push forward on its broader pipeline, which includes Game of Thrones: War for Westeros, the Dumb Ways franchise, and a title called Dew.
