Matt “Nadeshot” Haag, best known as the founder of 100 Thieves and former Call of Duty pro, has taken over the Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) Twitch scene—mostly by doing what every player dreams of (but probably shouldn’t): opening thousands of in-game cases in search of rare skins.
Since June 27, 2025, Nadeshot has pulled in 702,665 hours watched, peaking at 23,707 concurrent viewers, according to stats from SullyGnome. That officially makes him the most-watched CS2 streamer over the past week—beating out big names like summit1g, who came in second with just over 561,000 hours.
It all started on June 23 when Nadeshot streamed his first CS2 case opening. What was supposed to be a casual stream quickly spiraled into a full-on obsession. He even skipped co-streaming his LA Thieves team in the Call of Duty League Championship just to keep opening cases. That’s some serious commitment—or maybe just the beginning of a pricey addiction.
As per a report from Draft5.gg, Nadeshot initially dropped around $30,000, tearing through more than 3,200 cases before finally unboxing his first gold item—a Karambit Marble Fade, which is currently worth around $2,400. Since then, the spending hasn’t stopped. During a July 4 update, he casually revealed he had purchased 2,000 Glove Cases to be opened right after the Independence Day festivities, bringing his total spend to over $40,000.
The results? A mixed bag. He’s hit on a few more gold items, including a flashy pair of Hedge Maze Sport Gloves, but his luck has been far from consistent. In his most recent session, he opened 1,000 cases and got nothing golden in return.
What’s wild is how these case-opening streams are pulling numbers way above his usual content. His Warzone streams normally clock in at 100K to 200K total views, but five out of his last six CS2 streams have crushed that. One even hit 642K views. So it’s clear the hype isn’t just about the skins—it’s also about the sheer entertainment of watching someone gamble thousands of dollars on digital boxes.
Nadeshot’s case-opening antics also highlight the staggering scale of Counter-Strike’s skin economy. As reported back in May, the total value of the in-game item market has surpassed $5 billion (~£3.6bn) — a jaw-dropping stat that puts Valve’s economy-driven shooter in a league of its own.
Beyond skins, CS2 continues to be one of the world’s most-watched esports titles. The BLAST.tv Austin Major recently made history as the most-watched Counter-Strike event ever, racking up over 76 million hours watched during its 135-hour broadcast window.
