NieR: Automata is now officially available for purchase in Saudi Arabia, marking the first time the acclaimed action RPG has been released in the region.

Square Enix has rolled out the game across multiple platforms, including Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows, and Steam.
Originally released in 2017, NieR: Automata quickly earned recognition for its philosophical storytelling, stylish combat, and unforgettable characters. Directed by Yoko Taro and developed with PlatinumGames, the game follows androids 2B, 9S, and A2 as they battle machine lifeforms while uncovering humanity’s mysterious disappearance.
For Saudi players, the release comes with platform-specific editions. Switch owners can pick up the End of YoRHa Edition, which includes the full game, the 3C3C1D119440927 expansion, and cosmetic extras inspired by NieR Re[in]carnation.
PlayStation 4 users get the Game of the YoRHa Edition, bundled with pod skins, the Machine Mask accessory, a dynamic theme, and avatars.
On Steam, the same edition adds Valve-themed items and wallpapers, while Xbox One and Windows players receive the Become as Gods Edition, offering similar extras.
NieR’s arrival fits into Saudi Arabia’s broader gaming renaissance under Vision 2030, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s initiative to diversify the economy. With over 70% of the population under 30 and gaming revenue projected to reach $1.8 billion by 2025, the Kingdom has invested heavily in the industry.
The Public Investment Fund (PIF) has acquired stakes in Nintendo, Capcom, Nexon, Take-Two, and Activision Blizzard, while also hosting the Esports World Cup and Esports Nations Cup with record prize pools.
NieR’s arrival follows the triumphant return of Grand Theft Auto V in July 2025 after 12 years of ban, signaling the country’s growing openness to global titles.
