Nintendo has confirmed 23 games that are being developed for the Nintendo Switch 2, in a recent financial report.
These include Nintendo's own exclusive games, upgraded versions of original Switch games, and titles from other game developers.
Mario Kart World will be one of the most important games available on launch day. Along with it, players can purchase Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour for $9.99, which is basically a demonstration program showing what the new console can do. Some fans have criticized this decision, feeling that such demonstrations should be free.
Later in July, Donkey Kong Bananza will arrive on the 17th, with Drag x Drive following in the summer months. Kirby Air Riders is also planned for release sometime in 2025, though no specific date has been announced yet.
Players who loved The Legend of Zelda games on the original Switch won't have to wait to enjoy them on the new console. Both Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom will have special Nintendo Switch 2 Editions available on launch day.
Other Nintendo games getting upgraded Switch 2 versions include Super Mario Party Jamboree (July 24), which comes with additional content called Jamboree TV. Kirby and the Forgotten Land will receive similar treatment on August 28, adding a new "Star-Crossed World" feature.
The upcoming Pokémon Legends: Z-A and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond will be released for both the original Switch and the Switch 2 later in 2025.
Third-party support for the new console looks strong, with several games launching alongside the system on June 5. These include Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition, Deltarune, Street Fighter 6, and Yakuza 0: Director's Cut, among others.
