Nintendo Teams Up with Samsung for Switch 2 Production and Future OLED Models

Nintendo Teams Up with Samsung for Switch 2

Nintendo and Samsung have reportedly formed a strategic partnership to produce the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2.

According to Bloomberg. Samsung has been selected to manufacture the main processors for the Switch 2, a decision that could help Nintendo reach its ambitious sales target of 15 million units by March 2026.

The new Switch 2 represents a major upgrade from the original console. Players can expect impressive technical specifications, including 4K HDR support and gameplay at up to 120 frames per second, delivering much smoother and visually stunning gaming experiences.

This isn’t the first time Nintendo and Samsung have joined forces. If you remember, Samsung also supplied the OLED panels for the upgraded version of the original Switch. And it looks like they’re not done —Reports indicate that Samsung is lobbying for its OLED technology to be featured in future iterations of the Switch 2 as well.

So while the first batch of Switch 2 consoles might not have OLED screens, we could very well see a premium OLED model drop later on — kind of like what happened with the first Switch.

The partnership makes a lot of sense. The original Nintendo Switch was a massive hit, and Nintendo clearly doesn’t want to mess up this next launch. Bringing in Samsung, a company known for top-tier tech and large-scale production, should help them dodge the supply issues that have messed with other console releases in the past.

And let’s be real — the idea of a Switch 2 with both high performance and an OLED display sounds pretty dreamy. OLED tech means deeper blacks, brighter colors, and all-around better visuals, whether you’re gaming on the go or docked at home.

Of course, a premium OLED version would probably come with a premium price tag too. While nothing’s confirmed yet, analysts are already predicting a higher price point, especially given how the whole gaming hardware market has been trending lately.
