Persona 5: The Phantom X Going Global on PC and Mobile Next Summer

Persona 5: The Phantom X

ATLUS and SEGA have officially confirmed that Persona 5: The Phantom X will launch worldwide on June 26, 2025, for mobile devices and PC.

The game will be available through Google Play, the Apple App Store, and Steam.

Originally released in China, Taiwan, and North Korea as a mobile-exclusive early access title, this spin-off will now reach fans across the globe with a full international rollout.

A New Chapter in the Phantom Thieves Saga

Developed by Black Wings Game Studio and P-Studio under the supervision of ATLUS, The Phantom X is a turn-based RPG spin-off of the iconic Persona 5, one of the most celebrated JRPGs in recent memory.

In classic Persona fashion, players step into the shoes of teenage vigilantes who live double lives—ordinary high school students by day, supernatural thieves by night. They infiltrate distorted cognitive worlds known as “Palaces” to reform evildoers by stealing their inner “Treasure.”

However, The Phantom X introduces an entirely new cast of Phantom Thieves, distinct from the original Persona 5 crew.

Players will not only steal desires from villains but also help recover lost desires of innocent people.

Mobile-Optimized Persona Experience

Though designed with mobile platforms in mind, The Phantom X retains the signature Persona gameplay loop:

  • Take part-time jobs

  • Join school clubs

  • Build friendships and character bonds

  • Explore Shadow-infested dungeons

  • Battle in stylish turn-based combat to grow your Personas

One of the game’s standout features is the Synergy System, a new mechanic that deepens relationship-building and social events with NPCs.

The game also includes a Gacha-style system called Special Contracts, letting players summon familiar faces from the Persona 5 universe—such as Joker, Ann, Makoto, and Morgana—to fight alongside the new crew.

A Legacy Nearly a Decade Strong

First released in 2016 on PlayStation 3, Persona 5 has sold over 7 million copies worldwide, securing its place as one of ATLUS’s most successful and enduring franchises.

Its spin-offs have also enjoyed critical and fan acclaim:

  • Persona 5 Strikers brought real-time hack-and-slash gameplay with what some consider a story superior to the original.

  • Persona 5 Tactica offered tactical RPG action reminiscent of XCOM, while still retaining core Persona themes and combat mechanics.

If The Phantom X lives up to the legacy of its predecessors, it could be the next major milestone in the franchise—especially as it reaches a new generation of global players via mobile and PC.
