PlayStation 27-Inch Gaming Monitor: Features, Launch Timeline, Price

Sony has revealed a new PlayStation‑branded gaming monitor, set to launch in 2026 across the U.S. and Japan. The 27‑inch display is designed to complement the PS5 and PS5 Pro while also offering compatibility with PC and Mac devices, making it a versatile option for players who want a desktop setup.

Key Features

  • Display: 27‑inch Quad High Definition (QHD) IPS panel at 2560 x 1440 resolution.

  • VRR support & Refresh Rates: Up to 120Hz on PS5 and PS5 Pro, and up to 240Hz on PC/Mac.

  • HDR Support: Auto HDR Tone Mapping that adjusts settings automatically during PS5 setup. Sony hasn’t detailed brightness or response times, so expect entry‑level HDR rather than advanced backlight tech.

  • Controller Charging Hook: A unique swing‑down dock built into the monitor for charging DualSense and DualSense Edge controllers.

  • Connectivity: Two HDMI 2.1 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4 input, two USB‑A ports, one USB‑C port, built‑in stereo speakers, and a 3.5mm audio output.

  • Mounting: VESA compatibility for flexible desk setups.

Sony also highlighted that the monitor pairs with the Pulse Elevate wireless speakers, announced earlier this year, to create a coordinated desktop gaming environment.

Release Date

The PlayStation Gaming Monitor is scheduled for release in 2026, though Sony has not confirmed an exact launch date. Availability will initially be limited to the United States and Japan, with no word yet on a wider global rollout.

Price Speculation

Sony has not announced official pricing. However, industry chatter and community speculation suggest the monitor could fall in the $800–$1,000 range, largely due to its PlayStation branding and exclusive features like the integrated controller charging dock.
