PUBG Mobile has launched a limited-time collaboration with the upcoming horror film 28 Years Later, bringing a themed map, exclusive weapons, and survival challenges to the game. The event is now live and will run through July 6, specifically for players in Western Europe.
This crossover takes place in the World of Wonder mode, where players can explore a custom map inspired by the virus-ravaged Britain depicted in 28 Years Later. Iconic locations from the movie, including Causeway, Holy Island, and Bone Temple, are now part of the in-game experience.
In addition to the themed environment, players can access exclusive weapons modeled after those seen in the film.
The collaboration also brings special minigames that offer custom avatars, avatar frames, and sprays as rewards.
The scale of this crossover may not match PUBG Mobile’s previous high-profile events like the Attack on Titan collaboration. However, it still offers a refreshing way for fans of both the film and the game to engage with the 28 Years Later universe ahead of its release.
Beyond just the map and cosmetics, players can take things a step further by designing their own themed levels using traps, survival objectives, and new interactive items in the World of Wonder creator mode. This gives creative players a chance to build unique scenarios inspired by the post-apocalyptic world of the movie.
28 Years Later is the long-awaited third installment in Danny Boyle’s post-apocalyptic horror saga, following 28 Days Later (2002) and 28 Weeks Later (2007). It hits theaters on June 20, 2025, and marks the return of both Danny Boyle (director) and Alex Garland (writer), the original creators of the franchise.
