PUBG Update 36.1 Brings Ranked System Overhaul, Early Black Market Access, and Major Weapon Changes

KRAFTON is gearing up for a major mid-year overhaul as PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS Update 36.1 drops on June 19 for consoles (already live on PC). This update introduces two new Ranked tiers, opens the doors to the 2025 Black Market, and adds sweeping gunplay and balance adjustments.

Ranked Gets a Major Overhaul

At the heart of Update 36.1 is a complete Ranked ecosystem revamp. Two brand-new tiers—Crystal and Survivor—are being added, with Survivor now standing as the highest attainable rank in PUBG. This shakeup is designed to refine competitive matchmaking and create a more aspirational ladder for hardcore players.

Key Ranked Changes:

• Duo Mode is now supported in all regions.

• Unified RP (Rank Points) across Solo, Duo, and Squad, as well as across both TPP and FPP modes.

• New Ranked-legal items include:

  • Recall System

  • Red Zone

  • EMT Gear

  • Tactical Pack

  • BRDM-2 Calls

  • Zipline Gun

  • C4

These additions bring more chaos, creativity, and tactical options to the Ranked battlefield—elements previously exclusive to Normal Matches.

Black Market 2025 Opens Early

For the collectors out there, the Black Market returns early, opening on June 11 and running through July 17. This time-limited shop allows players to grab rare skins and items they may have missed—often at discounted rates.

Black Market Highlights:

• Progressive weapon skins and Chroma variants in weekly rotations

• Contraband Crates, Workshop Passes, and exclusive crafting content

• Now located in the Hideout, with improved currency options—use G-Coin or BP

Gunplay Updates & Weapon Balance Tweaks

Update 36.1 also rebalances several weapons and changes the availability of others across maps.

Weapon Adjustments:

• AUG has been nerfed

• VSS has been buffed

• Spawn rates adjusted for:
