Void Interactive Cuts Ties With Ready or Not Community Manager Over Charlie Kirk Comments

Void Interactive, the developer of the tactical FPS Ready or Not, has confirmed it has ended its “relationship” with the game’s community manager after they made controversial comments about the assassination of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk.

Heavily armed SWAT soldiers in tactical gear move cautiously in the rain at night, aiming rifles. The scene is tense with dim lighting. Its from video game Ready or Not.

What Happened

The incident began when Ready or Not’s community manager, known online as Kaminsky, was asked in the game’s official Discord server to add “Charlie Kirk” and variations of the name to the platform’s filtered words list.

Kaminsky complied but followed up with personal remarks that quickly spread online. “Funny you mention that because me and my roommate are literally just talking about him getting shot. All I have to say is: Nothing of value was lost,” Kaminsky wrote.

A moderator quickly pushed back, noting: “Yeah but that's not our official position.”

Despite the clarification, screenshots of the exchange circulated widely on X (formerly Twitter), where Kirk supporters and right-wing commentators called for disciplinary action.

Void Interactive’s Response

On September 19, 2025, Void Interactive addressed the controversy in a statement posted to its official X account, Steam page, and Discord server.

“We are aware of comments made by our community manager about a recent tragic event. These statements do not reflect our values or represent our company,” the statement read.

“We have ended our relationship with this individual and reminded our team of the responsibility we all share when communicating on public platforms. Our focus remains on fostering a respectful and professional community around Ready or Not.”

It remains unclear whether Kaminsky was a full-time employee or a volunteer moderator, but Discord users noted that the manager was quickly removed from staff listings, and even custom emoji associated with them were deleted.

Wider Pattern Across the Games Industry

Kaminsky’s removal adds to a growing list of industry figures fired following Kirk’s assassination on September 10, 2025, at a speaking event in Utah.

  • Sucker Punch Productions dismissed a senior artist on Ghost of Yotei after she made a joke about the assassination on social media.

  • ProbablyMonsters, the studio behind Storm Lancers, fired its global marketing manager, Light Humphreys, for remarks posted on Threads mocking Kirk’s death.

  • Microsoft has said it is reviewing cases of employees making similar comments online after Elon Musk tagged CEO Satya Nadella in a thread naming Activision Blizzard staff allegedly “trashing Charlie Kirk.”

Other major publishers, including Square Enix, Games Workshop (Warhammer), and Bethesda, are also facing calls from certain social media users to discipline employees for online comments about Kirk.

These are the same “creatives” who have been ruining games for years because they don’t understand what appropriate boundaries are, which includes how that concept would pertain to game design, customer support, and even art design.

Now that the rules have changed, they’re finally being held accountable for the reprehensible way in which they’ve treated others for so long.

The best part about it all is that their need for attention and lack of discretion is a self-solving problem. They’re practically coming out of the woodwork and begging to be shunned.

Good, no one with a functional brain ought not pay for the livelihood of someone that wants people like Charlie Kirk (you) dead for speaking truth.

If people believe otherwise, then have the balls to put your information out there on the internet, so reasonable people will know where to not spend their money.
