Ready or Not is officially heading to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on July 15, 2025, bringing its intense tactical shooter action to consoles after a long stint on PC.
Originally launched in early access back in December 2021 and officially released for PC in December 2023, Ready or Not has spent years building its reputation among fans of strategic first-person shooters. Now, console players can finally get in on the action, stepping into the boots of David “Judge” Beaumont, commander of the Los Sueños Police Department’s SWAT unit, as they navigate a gritty world inspired by a crime-ridden, dystopian version of Los Angeles.
The game is set in the fictional city of Los Sueños during the mid-2020s, a time marked by rising extremism, economic decay, and escalating violence. With its focus on realism, Ready or Not emphasizes authentic ballistics, detailed tactical planning, and Rules of Engagement that require players to think before they shoot. It supports single-player, five-player co-op with crossplay, and competitive multiplayer modes.
The official release time for consoles is midnight PT on July 15, with regional launch times broken down as follows:
PT (Pacific Time) – 12:00 AM, July 15
CT (Central Time) – 2:00 AM, July 15
ET (Eastern Time) – 3:00 AM, July 15
BST (British Summer Time) – 8:00 AM, July 15
AET (Australian Eastern Time) – 5:00 PM, July 15
Players can pre-order now, with the Standard Edition priced at $49.99. There’s also a Deluxe Edition at $69.99, which includes the base game, the Home Invasion and Dark Waters DLC packs, a third unannounced DLC, and the full soundtrack. Console players who grab the Day One Edition will receive three exclusive weapons: the M32A1 Grenade Launcher, MK-V Pistol, and 590M Shotgun.
In conjunction with the console launch, VOID Interactive is rolling out the Stories from Los Sueños update, a major content drop featuring two new missions, revamped training, difficulty settings, engine improvements, and a new TRPL Pepper Ball Pistol.
This update brings full cross-play functionality across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, giving everyone access to the same intense SWAT scenarios.
However, the road to consoles hasn’t been entirely smooth. As per VOID Interactive’s official post on Steam, the team made several content changes to meet platform requirements for console release. These include reducing nudity, gore, and violent animations involving children. Some PC players weren’t happy about these changes, accusing the studio of “censorship” and flooding the game with negative Steam reviews. While the overall Steam rating remains “very positive,” recent reviews have been mixed due to this backlash.
VOID responded by explaining that changes were made only when absolutely necessary to meet age ratings (ESRB M, PEGI 18, USK 18) and platform regulations. In many cases, only textures were altered. However, when entire assets needed modification—like adding clothing—those changes also impacted the PC version to avoid fragmenting development and introducing bugs.
Still, for players craving an intense, methodical, and often brutal tactical shooter, Ready or Not is finally almost here for consoles. Whether you're breaching doors solo or coordinating raids with friends, July 15 marks the day console players officially join the mission.
