Remedy Posts Strong Q3 2026 Results as Control Resonant Passes One Million Sales
Remedy Entertainment has reported a major revenue increase for the third quarter of 2026, driven by the launch of Control Resonant. The Finnish studio’s revenue rose 226% to EUR 39.6 million, compared with EUR 12.2 million in the same period last year. It is a big turnaround for the developer.

Key Numbers
According to the company’s interim report for July to September 2026:
Revenue: EUR 39.6 million (EUR 12.2 million a year earlier)
EBITDA: EUR 6.8 million (EUR 0.7 million)
Operating profit (EBIT): EUR 0.6 million (a loss of EUR 16.4 million)
Operating profit margin: 1.5 percent (a negative 135.1 percent)
Cash flow from operations: a negative EUR 0.1 million (a positive EUR 11.3 million)
Game sales and royalties made up most of the haul. They reached EUR 35.3 million, or 89 percent of total revenue. Development fees from the Max Payne 1&2 remake and the final Control Resonant accrual added EUR 4.3 million.
CEO Jean-Charles Gaudechon described the game’s launch as “a defining milestone for the company.” It is also the studio’s first self-published game of this scale.
Is Control Resonant a Hit?
The numbers say yes. Control Resonant launched worldwide on September 24, 2026. It crossed one million copies sold on October 15, the day of its physical release. That makes it the fastest-selling game in Remedy’s history.
Reception has been solid:
Metacritic critic score: 83
Metacritic user score: 8.8 out of 10
Steam user rating: 91% positive
PlayStation 5 average user rating: 4.7 out of 5
Players also voted it the top new game of September 2026 in PlayStation’s Players’ Choice poll. Critics were a little more divided. Many praised the gameplay, level design, and artistic ambition. Some felt the story had less bite than the original.
The United States was the biggest market on both PC and console. It accounted for nearly half of all sales. On PC, Chinese speaking regions and the United Kingdom ranked second and third. On console, the UK and Canada followed the US. Brazil also broke into the top three by console units.
The report also points to a healthy share of newcomers. Close to 50% of players were new to the Control franchise. “Reaching new players was a key goal for this game, and these early results indicate a growing audience for the franchise and for Remedy.” Outstanding wishlists currently stand at 2.4 million.
The original Control got a nice bump too. Its Q3 sales beat both the comparison period and the first two quarters of 2026. Alan Wake had a quieter quarter. FBC: Firebreak remains available, with sales mostly coming from subscription service agreements.
Here is what Remedy has in development:
Control Resonant: post-launch development
New project: production readiness
Max Payne 1&2 remake: full production, with Rockstar Games as publisher
Gaudechon says “Our priority now is to get CONTROL Resonant into the hands of more players.” Remedy still expects full-year revenue and EBITDA to grow compared with last year. The studio also aims to double its 2024 revenue by 2027.
