Riot Games Launches Legends Ascend South Asia Tournament for League of Legends Players

Riot Games, in collaboration with Aftermath Ventures, has unveiled Legends Ascend South Asia—a brand-new, online-only tournament designed to give League of Legends players across South Asia a pathway into the professional esports scene.

The competition kicks off on April 27, and will run for four months. With a total prize pool of ₹10 lakh, the tournament provides open access to players from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Nepal, and Bhutan.

Pathway to the Pros

More than just prize money is on the line. Winners of Legends Ascend South Asia will qualify for the LCP Wildcard Playoffs, offering a chance to compete in the League of Legends Championship Pacific (LCP) promotion and relegation tournament. It’s a major stepping stone for aspiring pros in the region.

“Legends Ascend is about giving players in South Asia a real shot at competitive League of Legends,” said Arun Rajappa, Country Manager for India & South Asia at Riot Games. “It’s a step towards building a stronger, more connected community where players and fans can all find more ways to play, engage, grow, and be part of something bigger.”

Tournament Schedule

🧾 Qualifier 1

Registration: Open now until May 3
Matches: May 4 – May 11

🧾 Qualifier 2

Registration: May 12 – May 17
Matches: May 18 – May 25

🧾 Qualifier 3

Registration: May 26 – May 31
Matches: June 1 – June 8

🏟️ Main Stage Rounds

Round Robin League: June 13 – July 13
Double-Elimination Playoffs: July 25 – August 3

All matches will be livestreamed on the FragNation YouTube channel, allowing fans across the region to follow the action in real time.

Participation Guidelines

Teams can include up to 7 players (5 mains + 2 subs)
Minimum age to compete is 17; ID verification required
Only residents of South Asia are eligible; residential proof is required.
No roster changes after qualifier registration is locked
Cheating, spoofing, or unfair play will result in the strict disqualification of the entire team
