Riot Games seems to be quietly developing a brand-new FPS project set in the Valorant universe. A recent job listing briefly confirmed the connection before Riot quickly edited the details out, but by then the internet had already taken notice.
On October 15, a posting for an Associate Art Director role mentioned both the "FPS genre" and the "Valorant IP." Riot has now updated the listing with more generic language. The revised version now refers only to an “unpublished R&D product” and a “stylized game.”

What We Know About Project T So Far
The codename Project T first surfaced back in early 2023, when Discord users spotted job postings describing an MMOFPS in development at Riot. At the time, the developer highlighted the need for AAA PvP FPS experience and design expertise for multiple player audiences, from newcomers to veterans.
Since then, leaks have painted two possible directions:
A Destiny 2-style MMOFPS with seasonal content, weapon mods, and even personal quarters for player housing (similar to Warframe’s ship system).
An extraction shooter with survival mechanics like hunger and fatigue layered on top of PvP combat.
The latest job listing adds weight to the idea that the project is moving forward. It specifically mentions guiding the art team “from prototype through pre-production into full production,” which suggests Riot has advanced beyond the concept stage.
Riot’s Track Record Raises Questions
While the idea of a Valorant-connected FPS is exciting, Riot’s history with side projects makes fans cautious. For context:
Pool Party, a Smash Bros-style fighter, was canceled in 2024, affecting dozens of employees.
The long-awaited League of Legends MMO had its development reset earlier that same year.
Even 2XKO, Riot’s fighting game, took six years just to reach early access.
Given that track record, it’s fair to wonder if Project T will survive long enough to launch. If it does, a release window between 2028 and 2030 seems like the earliest realistic scenario.
What’s Next?
For now, Riot hasn’t officially confirmed anything beyond the job listings. What we do know is that this isn’t Valorant Mobile, which launched in China earlier this year with over 60 million pre-registrations. Whatever Project T turns out to be, it’s something entirely new within the Valorant IP.
