Riot Games has shut down the latest round of rumors surrounding a potential global release for VALORANT Mobile, making it clear that there's no official timeline just yet.
Recently, buzz started circulating after players spotted gameplay footage in English, sparking speculation that a global version of the game was already in for launch. However, Dave Shinn, the Publishing Lead for VALORANT, has directly addressed these claims and labeled them as a scam.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Shinn clarified that the footage was from the ongoing Chinese beta — which now includes English language support — and not a separate global build.
“I’m excited to see the excitement for the CN beta. To be clear: if there was a ‘new global build’ out there, you’d have heard about it through VAL channels. Don’t get scammed,” he wrote.
Currently, Riot Games is heavily focused on the Chinese market. Earlier this year, Head of VALORANT Studios Anna Donlon emphasized this regional focus during the game’s pre-registration announcement. She stated that since China has one of the most competitive mobile FPS communities, it made sense to start development efforts there first. Riot is working closely with Lightspeed Studios, known for their expertise in mobile FPS, to fine-tune the experience before considering global rollout plans.
As for confirmed features, VALORANT Mobile will include at least 16 agents, including Jett, Phoenix, Reyna, Breach, Skye, Sova, Killjoy, Iso, Gekko, and KAY/O, and six classic maps, like Ascent, Split, Bind, Haven, Sunset, and Lotus, from the PC version at launch. In addition, players can look forward to two mobile-exclusive maps, Shipyard and Ancient Village.
A built-in replay system will also be available from day one, according to leaked gameplay videos.
While there’s optimism for a concrete release date in China by the end of 2025, fans around the world might have to wait a bit longer for news on a global launch. Until Riot officially confirms it, any supposed "leaks" should be taken with a grain of salt.
