Rockstar Games is recruiting game testers at its Bangalore office in India, with the drive scheduled for April 18, 2026.
The announcement came through a LinkedIn post by Priyanka Mourya, Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist at Rockstar Games. She put it simply: "If you have a passion for gaming, this may be the ideal position for you."
The official job title listed is "Associate QA Tester - Game Functionality," and the primary responsibility involves completing bug reports across multiple platforms. Applications are currently open, and selected candidates are expected to begin on April 18, 2026.
Now, GTA 6 is not directly named in the listing. That is pretty standard practice. Roles like these typically require participants to sign NDAs, so no one should be surprised by that. But given that Grand Theft Auto 6 is the main project Rockstar is working on right now, it is safe to say this recruitment is connected to it.
According to the reservation application form, accepted individuals will be working on "some of the most rewarding, large-scale creative projects to be found in any entertainment medium."

Grand Theft Auto 6 is currently set to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. A PC release has also been confirmed.
The fact that wide-scale testing appears to be starting now suggests the game is approaching a more final state of development.
Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two Interactive, which is the parent company of Rockstar, had previously stated that GTA 6 will "set creative benchmarks for the series, industry and entertainment." That is a bold claim, but one that the studio seems to be backing up with a serious development effort.
As per reports by insider Reece "Kiwi Talkz" Reilly, Rockstar has around 1,600 developers in India handling QA and artwork on GTA 6. He explained the reasoning behind it: "Budgets for AAA games are insane now in the U.S. This is why Rockstar has 1600 devs alone in India doing QA and art on GTA 6, it's way cheaper. Why pay an American dev $140K a year when that can pay for 4 or 5 Indian devs."
Fans who were hoping to sneak in as early testers should note that the recruitment is specifically for candidates based in India. So unless you happen to be there or are planning a very dedicated trip, this particular opportunity is out of reach for most of the global audience.
