Rocksteady Studios has officially brought in Bill Money as its new Game Director, signaling a fresh start after the rocky launch of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

The appointment was quietly confirmed via Money’s LinkedIn profile (spotted by Mp1st), showing he stepped into the role in July 2025.

Before joining Rocksteady, he spent a decade at Ubisoft Singapore, where he worked on several major Assassin’s Creed titles, including Mirage, Valhalla (and its Siege of Paris DLC), and Origins. His background in building large-scale, third-person open-world games seems to line up perfectly with Rocksteady’s future direction.

Interestingly, this isn’t Money’s first time working with Warner Bros.. From 2011 to 2014, he served as Design Director at WB Games Montreal, contributing to Batman: Arkham Origins and other projects like LEGO: Legends of Chima Online and Cartoon Universe. That Batman connection has fans buzzing again, especially with rumors swirling about Rocksteady returning to its Arkham roots.

While the studio hasn’t officially revealed what it’s working on next, there’s been plenty of speculation. Earlier this year, Rocksteady posted a job listing looking for a Game Director with experience in “Third-Person Action, Melee Brawlers, and Open World Traversal games.” Combine that with Money’s Assassin’s Creed resume, and it’s easy to see why people think a new Batman game might be in the works.

The timing of Money’s hiring also follows a tough stretch for Rocksteady. After Suicide Squad launched to disappointing reviews and sales, the studio went through layoffs earlier in 2025. It was a rough end to a nearly decade-long development cycle, and clearly, a creative reset was needed.

Meanwhile, Warner Bros. has been vocal about doubling down on its biggest franchises—and Batman is still one of its crown jewels. At Gamescom 2025, the company even announced LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, set to release in 2026.

For now, Rocksteady hasn’t confirmed its next project, but with Bill Money at the helm, fans are hopeful that the studio will return to form with a strong narrative-driven experience. Whether it’s a new Batman game or a fresh IP, the appointment signals that Rocksteady is gearing up for a new chapter.
