Capcom has officially announced that Sagat, the legendary Muay Thai fighter, will make his return to Street Fighter 6 on August 5, marking the beginning of the game’s Year 3 Pass. Alongside his arrival, players can look forward to a new Thailand stage, fresh World Tour content, and some eye-catching swimsuit outfits for key fighters.
Before Sagat steps into the ring, Capcom is rolling out a new Fighting Pass starting July 4. This update introduces Battle Grounds content for the first time, featuring EX Colours for Ryu and Ken, along with various character customisation items. Fans of retro games will also get a nostalgic bonus—Tiger Road, the 1987 hack-and-slash classic, is included as part of the pass.
Sagat’s in-game debut isn’t just cosmetic. Players will be able to interact with him as a Master in World Tour mode, where the journey takes them to Thailand. The World Tour segment begins with a mysterious encounter involving a ghostly tiger and quickly escalates to Sagat showing off his brute strength by smashing a giant log. As with other Masters, players can train under Sagat and unlock his Muay Thai-inspired moves for their custom avatars.
According to Capcom, Sagat is just the first of four new characters planned for Year 3. C. Viper is set to arrive in Fall 2025, Alex will join in Spring 2026, and Ingrid is expected to wrap up the pass in late Spring 2026.
One of the flashier updates in this round is the addition of seven new swimsuit costumes—Outfit 4s—for Cammy, Luke, Chun-Li, Manon, Jamie, Kimberly, and AKI. These are the first Outfit 4 designs introduced in Street Fighter 6, with more characters receiving theirs later on.

While fans are still waiting for a detailed gameplay breakdown of Sagat’s updated moveset, his legacy in the franchise is already well known. First introduced as the final boss in the original Street Fighter and later as part of M. Bison’s Shadaloo group in Street Fighter II, Sagat’s return will no doubt be welcomed by longtime fans.
