Samson Launch Guide: Release Times, Price, and Everything You Need to Know

The game puts you in the shoes of Samson McCray, a tough ex-con who has just walked out of prison after taking the fall for a botched robbery. Back in the crumbling industrial city of Tyndalston, things are far from quiet. His sister Oonagh is in serious trouble, tangled up with dangerous creditors, and the clock is already ticking. Players must repay a mounting debt through jobs, fights, and risky moral choices, all structured around a day and night calendar system. Miss the quota, and your family pays the price.

It is the kind of setup that keeps you on edge from the very first mission. The story is personal, consequence-driven, and deeply noir in tone, with branching paths shaped by how you approach missions, exploration, and the moral calls you make along the way.

Gameplay at a Glance

The game does not try to be the next open-world giant. Liquid Swords has been upfront about building a focused, mid-budget experience centered on intensity rather than sheer scale. What it does offer is a well-rounded set of mechanics that include:

  • Brutal close-quarters melee combat

  • Rooftop chases and on-foot missions

  • Car combat with your customizable vehicle, the Magnum Opus

  • Eight different job types spanning both on-foot and vehicle-based activities

  • A daily quota system that forces you to balance story missions against money-making gigs

  • Skill progression across four trees: Instinct, Tactics, Aggression, and Cunning

The city itself reacts to your actions too, with shifting factions, changing streets, and evolving threats, keeping the world feeling alive. For playtime, expect around 10 to 15 hours for the main story.

There is no multiplayer, no co-op, and no online requirement. This is a purely single-player, offline experience from start to finish.

Editions and Pricing

Here is what is available at launch:

  • Standard Edition (Digital Only): $24.99

  • Supporter Pack: $29.99

There are no Deluxe or Collector's editions, and no physical release has been announced. Importantly, there are no microtransactions either. What you pay for is the complete game.

The game has already crossed 300,000 wishlists ahead of launch, which is a strong signal for a mid-budget indie title.
